Healthy Eating Children are Not Pre-Diabetic
Childhood Obesity is of epidemic proportions in North America. Something must be done - Nearly a third of our children are obese or overweight, and some are borderline diabetic. Nowadays, doctors are treating kids who have significant medical issues - if your child is pre-diabetic or borderline hypertensive, something can still be done. Follow up with your doctor straightaway, and adjust your child's diet. Help him/her learn about nutrition - and try to make it interesting by putting in a garden together, cooking healthy foods & eating fresh vegetables and healthy fruits together.
There are many things you can do together to enlighten & encourage your child & spur them on. You can play health-related games, seek out diet & nutrition apps, and plan meals together - for example, the Richards Simmons "Deal a Meal" is one possibility.
You can get dance dvd's and boogie and stretch - and you can work in the garden together in the summer! And don't forget those fresh herbs you can plant together (inside or outside). And then when they've matured, harvest those fresh herbs and COOK together.
As far as App ideas, there are free cookbook apps such as "Cookbook Master", or "Yogurts Free" or "Vegetables Recipes" app. These titles can be found at Amzn.
